Volume and facial contour

Dermal fillers

Over time our skin loses collagen and elasticity, resulting in the development of lines and loss of volume. Static lines (lines present even without making expressions) are best treated with dermal fillers. The fillers are injected directly to the problem area, filling out the depressions that create the lines with instant results. We use semi-permanent fillers such as Juvederm® and Restylane®, which contain hyaluronic acid. This is a naturally occurring substance found in our skin and functions to retain moisture, allowing the skin to appear plump and smooth.

For this reason dermal fillers are also the best solution for replacing lost volume, providing better contouring of the face, and together with “botox” achieving the so-called “liquid face-lift”. Hyaluronic acid is eventually degraded by your body’s own hyaluronidase enzyme. This process can be expedited if the result from the filler is no longer desired by injecting the synthetic form of this enzyme. The results from fillers are instant and the desired aesthetic effect lasts on average 6 to 9 months.
